MTT are an independent machine tool maintenance company who have combined their wealth of engineering experience with the leading research in machine tool analysis to provide a modular solution for condition and baseline productivity monitoring for manufacturing platforms. Our Sensor Tool Kit system focuses on the application of targeted sensing to gain a continuous picture of the condition and changes occurring across a machine tool, this could be the temperature of a bearing, the vibration of a motor or the level of current draw in a spindle.
Sensor Toolkit is a continuous monitoring solution for all machines
This independent system collects temperature, vibration and current data, with the option of OPC-UA connection to compatible PLC’s. The system is individually tailored according to a client’s needs. By capturing and analysing these parameters we can see how an asset changes over time and predict areas of concern, these can be concerns for production quality or the longevity of a system.
We then combine these findings with regular machine maintenance to understand the true required frequency of service to enable the client to achieve their production goals. By understanding the machine’s behaviour, the system enables users to understand how changes can affect productivity or get ahead of potential unplanned maintenance.
Looking ahead, MTT aims to expand this product, seamlessly integrating machines, data processing, and AI across the industry. Future development will also combine STK with other MTT products enabling the virtual machining of user’s components on a precise geometric digital twin of their in-factory machine, providing indication of the global cut accuracy of each machine down to single digit microns.

It is important to make clear that STK is modular by design, and we can add additional modules of the same type to increase the number of sensors, we also can develop additional modules should an alternative parameter need to be monitored. We have a number of other modules in R&D currently including Strain, General Analogue IO and Inclination.
