Thermal imaging is a common technique for analysing the thermal properties of a machine and identifying heat sources. Thermal effects are common sources of non-linear, hard to predict errors in the tool position. MTT in the conjunction with the University of Huddersfield are researching methods for using automatic methods for measuring, analysing and compensating for these errors.
